Forklifts must undergo periodic inspections that must be scheduled once every twelve months. Depending on the type of forklift and its intended use, the frequency of testing may vary. One variable concerns use in closed spaces (warehouses, sheds, commercial premises) or in open spaces. Another variable concerns forklifts equipped with combustion engines, which have different needs than electric ones. Exhaust gas testing is a control measure to be carried out on all heat engine machinery operating in the canton. During the test, the machinery is subjected to an operating cycle, during which emissions are measured over a certain period of time, at certain operating regimes. The machinery is connected to specific instruments that are certified by the authorities. All machinery must fall within specific emission tolerance parameters in order to pass the test.
Depending on the size and transportability of the machines, exhaust gas checks can be carried out either at the owner’s premises or at our workshops. To optimise travel costs and to offer an optimised service, Service Car recommends scheduling checks at times of low use and possibly when more than one machine is available for inspection.
